I am participating in a link up on making 2014 count.  I visited my blogging friend, Kelli Murray's blog and linked up.  Once you link up on any of the hosting blogger sites you are connected to all.  Make this year count. #making2014count

You came and went it seems but you left me questioning so muh about myself and others.  Relationships were tested, my convictions and desires questioned.  My soul was left to muddle through the fragments of who I thought I was and wanted to be.  Could it be the year I arrived at 30 to be a year of monumental discovery?  Could it be the time constraints of being a mama to three that left me with little self reflection?  Could it be an illness that left me emotionally and physically weak?

This mama has found her way.  The word l'eau, water, helped me flow.  I took each challenge and question, and allowed my body to feel and react.  Tired of the pressure of society and personal and familial expectation, I lived in my most present state yet.

This year, after rolling with the waves of life, I am choosing to rise from Le Feu.  There exists a passion, a fire within.  I want to live more in the moments of this life with desire, spontaneity, full on love.  There are endless projects and ideas that my heart yearns to start and complete.  To love my children with a warmth an intensity.

This year, I hope will be my greatest and I hope you all will help ignite that flame under me to rise to the challenge for this soul is ready.

When I was a young girl and teenager, I was truly obsessed with my nails.  I loved having them long...Rihanna long. There are vivid memories of going to my aunt's house and her giving me a mani.  The filing, the care, the attention to detail and a moment for yourself.

Remember the late 90s French tips?  The fad most of us loved?  Then Hard Candy became popular and I became obsessed too.  Colour.  Flecks of gold.  Designs.  Today there are adornments, shape trends and instagram feeds.

Now nail art is a fun art form but obviously I have little time to sit or even book an appointment to have someone fuss over me.  But I can head to Target and pick up a polish that exudes glitter and gold and makes me feel like I'm a goddess for a few moments until it starts to peel and the reality of getting my hands dirty on the daily reminds me that these nails are happy grimy too.

Go out and get adorned!  Your fingers will thank you as they so daintily flip the pages of that 400 page novel you've settled into ("Uh Mama!  I need you?"....right, real life)

As a side note, I have yet to have a vegan polish that works well.  Do any of you have any suggestions or brands that you recommend?  Open to ideas.

Emma is a complete stunner.  I love her eyes and pixie cut.
This Harry Potter print.

To start off my do something project I decided that as a family we were going to get together and decorate a box to fill with 2014 mementos and that it would also house a list of the things we would like to accomplish as a family.

You will need:

- any box with a lid (my sister gifted me some body shop items in a cute little box so I just used that)
- glue
- art supplies
- adornments
- scissors

I suggest setting out all the supplies pre-crafting.  We find it helpful for the babes just so that we can control the mess.

Getting work is fun.  We decided to collaborate but you may want to choose spaces, particular themes, a word that you want to emulate (togetherness, love, learning, kindness).

After everything is put on work on the list of to dos.  This could be as lengthy as you like or as short, the idea is to work together.  The babes did specific goals and we decided on specific activities that come to mind:

-family volunteering
-get records for each of us
-camping overnight
-osheaga music festival

I hope everyone is having an amazing new year this far and stay tuned for more somethings.
