Pumpkin Fest at the Grier Cottage

On Saturday we got to celebrate our vegan version of turkey day at the Grier Cottage. It was an absolutely beautiful day full of fall colours, love, and deliciousness. The feast that we all worked on will become the official celebration menu for years to come.

Here it is:

Candied Yams
Fresh Beans from Allen's Garden
Killer Cranberry Sauce
Harvest Pie
Vegan Hearty Stuffing

followed by

Death by Chocolatey Loaf with bits of coconut, walnuts, chocolate chips
Massive Applie Pie in an iron skillet
Skulls and Cross Bones Pumpkin Pie

After dinner we sat for some tea and were presented with lovely wedding gifts from our family. A little birdie had told John and El that we were on the last of our glasses, so thanks for the amazing set and Ikea Gift card. We are also loving the Melissa and Doug chessboard which will encourage learning with Charlotte and I guess (hehehe) special time with Allen. Maybe it will bring me around from my mommy brain.

Brian and Norma were so generous. They gifted us with something amazing in addition to beautiful cutting boards that will allow us all to cook together and an organic heritage variety of flour.

We love you all and thanks for spending this occasion with us.

xoxo

MOVING DAY

Thank you to all those who offered to help with our move. But a special thank you goes to Grandpa Grier. He hopped on a bus from Ottawa to arrive Tuesday night. He spent Wednesday loading the truck and driving to Perth with us. The next day he helped unload the truck even though he still had to help Great Uncle Bruce the next day. Simply awesome!!! We love you Grandpa Grier and could not have done this without you. Thanks also to John and El for visiting moving in day. Eabha kept Charlotte busy and El and Grandma kept Harriet busy. John D. just kept busy! Dinner was delicious and so needed! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Charlotte's Farm is almost complete!

We started our farm collection when we arrived in Montreal with a cow. We have since added a pig, an Asha from Grams and Gramps, and a horse from Mommy and Daddy on Charlotte's birthday. But wouldn't you know...Charlotte's best friend Hannah got her two more additions. A swan and a sheep (or as Charlotte likes to say a "baa"). Thank you so much Hayley, Hannah and Marcos. Charlotte is super excited!
