On this final day of 7 days of decorations, I am simply presenting to you my inspiration for Christmas Dinner. I have, over the past two weeks, been aweing over this magnificent Vintage Winter Wonderland posted on Hostess Blog. The white painted twigs, musical Mod Podged conical decor and delicate deer and birds make my heart skip a beat. Hope y'all are celebrating this amazing lead up to the day to spend with loved ones well.

This craft again is really simple and I wish I had a photo because it turned out simply amazingly. You can find all instructions and downloads here. Rather than print out the heart I simply drew a heart on cardstock. Another way to also save paper!!!

{debbie travis heirloom ornaments}

Today's Christmas Decoration is simply easy, as usual. What can I say...it is what I like.

I grew up watching Debbie Travis. She is a Canadian interior designing icon. I couldn't help but buy her affordable ornaments and ribbon to use for this wreath.

supplies:

* floral wooden base

* christmas ornament

* tulle

* ribbon

* sparkles

* white glue

* paint brush

* glue gun

Directions:

1. coat the floral wooden base with white glue and sprinkle the sparkles on.

2. Let dry for about 5-12 hours.

3. glue gun the christmas ornament down. i am a stickler for symmetrical, but you can place yours any which way and use more than one ornament.

4. glue gun the tulle to the top back of the wooden frame and wrap until you get back where you started.

5. may need to apply glue to clean up the look.

6. tie a simple bow at the top of the the wreath.

7. Hang and pretend you are Martha Stewart.

On this 3rd day of ornament/decoration making I am presenting the woodland ornament.

supplies:

* wooden sawed off branch or tree trunk

* drill

* ribbon of your choice

* paint of your choice with brushes

directions:

1. drill a hole into the piece of wood

2. paint a design of your choosing

3. thread ribbon and hang on the tree

EASY PEASY!!

This little ornament is really fun for me and super relaxing. If you have never tried needle felting you need to. Anyone can excel at needle felt which is also amazing.

supplies needed:

* paper to cut the silhouette from (I prefer a hard cardstock)

* scissors

* woolfelted sweater that you will be upcycling for this project

* needle felt needle and foam (might buy a kit)

* black wool roving

* black felt sheet

* embroidery thread

* large sewing needle

Directions:

1. Find a silhouette that interests you. I found a deer one that I googled and traced onto a paper.

2. Cut the silhouette from the paper. Place the pattern onto the black felt sheet and adhere with the sewing needle. Cut out the felt in the shape of the deer.

3. Place the deer felt silhouette onto a piece of the wool felt sweater (make a large square with 3 inches on each side).

4. Needle felt the silhouette by placing the wool roving over the felt silhouette. Go to town. Quickly bring the needle up and down over and over. The fibers in the sweater, roving and felt will stick together. You could always skip this step and glue but this is much more fun.

5. Cut the sweater with the needle felted silhouette into an oval shape. Cut a black felt square into an oval as well (same size).

6. Tie a piece of the embroidery thread into a knot and sew invisibly to the inside of the ovals.

7. Blanket stitch the ovals together, leaving an area to fill with left over pieces of felt.

8. Stuff, continue the blanket stitch and ENJOY!!!

For 7 days I will be featuring holiday decorations that anyone can easily make at home. The first is super simple and should take no longer than 10 minutes.

Embroidery HOOp Ornament

Supplies needed:

small to medium sized embroidery hoop

scissors

iron

iron-on patch

twine

cotton fabric (I chose white but you can choose anything)

Steps:

1. Cut out a fabric square 2 inches bigger than the diameter.

2. Iron-on your patch

3. Place square with iron-on patch in the embroidery hoop.

4. Cut off the excess.

5. Make a twine or ribbon loop around the hoops screws....and VOILA!!!
